FOUNDERS WHO CARE & WHO GO ALL IN TO EXPAND FREEDOM, TRUTH, & COMPASSION
“It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to
have tried to succeed.”
Our story is simple: both coming from the public education system, we refused to put our son through the same schooling. We wanted something more, something relevant, and something from this century. After a few years of research, we landed on the unschooling concept which eventually put us on our path to Apogee. Having followed Tim Kennedy for many years prior to opening Apogee San Tan, we also met Matt Beaudreau in 2023, which made landing at Apogee an easy call. Our school story began in early 2023 before eventually teaming up with the Apogee Strong Affiliation to open in August 2024. We launched our campus in Queen Creek, AZ in July 2023 with a small group of young adventurers and have not looked back.
We have continued this journey, because we were adamant to not let our son fall into the same societal trap and lie we were fed. We were sick of seeing children subjected to the same failed system teaching them a lot about nothing, no skills for life, and mostly just to sit down, shut up, and submit to authority.
At Apogee San Tan, we believe our community deserves better, they deserve more, and mostly they deserve to send their children to an environment where they can grow and prosper. We want better education, better physical fitness, and better mental health for the next generation.
Jake joined Apogee San Tan in 2025 as our Head Coach. He is an Arizona native and was born and raised in Mohave Valley, AZ. In High School Jake competed in Football, Baseball, Track, and Soccer. After graduating from River Valley High School (14’) he moved to Southern California to continue his football career at College of the Canyons (‘17). After “COC” he transferred to UTEP to continue playing football where he ended his career as an all conference player both on and off the field.
After Jake graduated with a Bachelors from UTEP (‘19) he pursued his new life’s purpose in coaching. He later received his
Masters in Philosophies of leadership development from UTEP (‘22) where he was a Graduate Assistant Football Coach.
